Biggie Smalls

Christopher George Latore Wallace was born on May 21, 1972 in Brooklyn New York. He was an only child. Both parents were Jamaican. His mother was a pre-school teacher and his dad was a part time welder and a politician. His father left when he was 2. Chris was good in school and won many awards. He was nicknamed Big because of his large size. Growing up in the crack epidemic, he began selling drugs at 12. He went to the same school as Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes.

He dropped out of school at 17 and did more criminal activities. In 1989 he was arrested and had 5 years probation for the possession of weapons. He was sentenced to 9 months in prison for selling crack-cocaine in North Carolina.

On August 4, 1994 he married the singer Faith Evans. Soon after he recorded his first solo hit "Juicy". His album "Ready to Die" received 4 platinum awards. He later became a rival to Tupac Shakur who was a West coast rapper.

He was arrested several times in 1996 for harassment, drugs, and weapon charges. Tupac was shot and killed on September 7,1996. Biggie was blamed for the murder but denied any involvement.

He later got into a car crash shattering his left leg Whig cued him to be in a wheel chair for a while. Once able to walk agin, he required a cane. On March 9, 1997 after leaving a party, 2cars pulled up along where Biggie was in the car and shot at him. He was shot in the chest 4 times. He is considered the best rapper of all time and his album Life After Death which was released short,y after his death was #1 on the charts. There is a video biography for him.
